Selling — what sets the price
Selling — costs and the spike rule
Labor first, then tariff, then profit. 14K is priced at 58.5% on the sell side.
metal = ( ounce price + loss ) ÷ 31.1035 × purity
if spot runs 3% or more over your reference the price scales up.
It never goes below the price you set.
Buying — one line per karat
Buy side uses straight K/24 purity. You never pay above the London fix number.
Buy normally — the London fix number
spot 1.5% or more below the fix — prices off spot never above the fix number
Buying — silver, platinum & palladium
Weekdays we go off that metal's London PM fix, entered by hand once a day. Weekends we hold
Friday's close, same favor-the-store rule as gold. The board shows one price per metal — it's calculated at
the purity below, but never states a minimum fineness. Internally, front-of-house staff may accept anything
that tests .900 fine or better at the price shown; that's a staff-only rule, not printed on the board.
Uses the same drop-to-spot % and rounding as gold, set above.
Buy melt = ( fix or reference $/oz ÷ 31.1035 ) × purity
board price = melt × pay% (or the override, if set)
normally — the fix number · spot 1.5% or more below the fix — prices off spot never above the fix number
